Today’s lesson went well. We decided to not give Ben a nap this morning until he went to church. So, he slept with John through Priesthood and then he sat quietly through Sunday School. I found a few correlations between the Relief Society lesson about God the Eternal Father and this Sunday School lesson on the Tree of Life.

First is that Nephi had a question about the vision and he prayed with a desire to know and believing he’d receive an answer. In Relief Society, we briefly mentioned that Joseph prayed to find his answer about what church to join. Just as Nephi had done, so did Joseph Smith. Two wonderful examples that if we pray with a desire to know something with a pure heart, we shall have it given unto us.

Another thing is the condition of our heart. I just had a really strong impression that life depends on the desires of our heart. We have to humble ourselves to receive all that the Lord has in store for us.
