The Lesson #2
Well, today’s lesson was great. It was taught by one of my favorite ladies in the ward, the bishop’s wife. I felt like I had so much to say again but didn’t say it all because the lesson covered it. One thing that was brought up during the lesson and not while I was studying was that Nephi went into Jerusalem after the plates being led by the spirit not knowing beforehand what he was going to do. Well, in my Book of Mormon I have written out to the side of that scripture, just like in my marriage.
In that first year of our marriage I was taking birth control pills for the first time and boy they made me one crazy mean person. In my craziness, I questioned (a lot) whether it was my marriage that made me feel that way or if it was something else. Seeing as how I had never been married, I didn’t know what to expect. I just knew that we were supposed to be married and I had to venture on in faith.
After just about 5 years of marriage, I know a bit more about what I am doing. That first year really helps us work through problems because it gave us so much practice.
I am still doing things in faith. We are always guided in this life if we listen to the promptings of the Holy Ghost. We have been so blessed by acting on faith. Now, John has the job of his dreams that he gets benefits for his family through. We are so very blessed.
For next week, there are only about four chapters and a part of another. The lesson is on the Tree of Life vision that Lehi and Nephi see. I am really excited to keep doing this. Waking up at 7am has not been too bad. I have just enough time to read my scriptures and post before I have to get Ben. I am probably going to read a chapter a day and look at the questions in the study guide. I didn’t look at those this week, but I did get all the chapters read.
Have a happy sabbath day!
