This is the first book in the Book of Mormon and it discusses who is writing this book, Lehi’s vision, and why they are to leave Jerusalem.  Lehi is a prophet and he is preaching to the people and just like the prophet’s of old he is mocked for prophesying of their iniquity.  They seek to take away his life.

Nephi is writing this record and he states that he is not going to write about his father had seen and prophesied because his father had written them already.  This account is what was is known as the Book of Lehi and was either lost or stolen.  These were the 116 pages that Joseph let Martin Harris take to show his wife and friends so they would believe him that he was doing the Lord’s work.  I think that will be an interesting read!

I am going to take this week, one chapter at a time.  Maybe two on one of the days.  This will get everything read that needs to be read for this week’s lesson.
